Another weekend without Mike's sailboat!!
Even though the sailing scares me half to death, I am begining to look forward to having the boat to go to on the weekends. Here are a few photos of what we have been doing with our weekends without the sailboat. I like biking as much as the next person, but this past weekend it was in the upper 90's and the humidity was just plain awful. Why then, you might ask are we on bikes.
I DONT KNOW!!!! Mike loves the heat, always has. And I hate the heat, always have. And so his one consession to me is that we go and are done before noon. The picture of me is what Mike usually sees from where he is on our rides. He is usually this far ahead no matter how fast I try to pedal. Don't worry, he installed a rear view mirror to keep track of me. And I do see him checking it every so often. It's OK, I am alone with my thoughts. There are several very nice bike trails here in our fair city. Most of them are fairly level and even through the trees to provide some relief from the sun.

Here is the happy couple!! I finally got a picture to upload. It is interesting that it works on my laptop, and not my desktop. I wonder why. Anyone out there know?
In case you are wondering, this picture was taken at the Phoenix Zoo at Christmas time. We go there to see the Zoo Lights, something I really like doing and am so glad that Mike, Angie and Patrick also like going.
So, Happy Anniversary,Mike and Angie. Dad and I are very proud of both of you and parents you are.
Well, I am having trouble uploading a picture. I have been trying for 3 days.
But, I want to wish Mike and Angie a happy anniversary. I hope you had a great day and did something special. I wish you many more happy years together. And if and when I can figure out what is going on, I will post a photo.
Dad and I love you both very much! Hugs and kisses!

KATY'S BRIDAL SHOWER

Here are the guests at Katy's small but enthusiastic bridal shower. Of course, it turned out to be the hottest day yet this summer, so all the outdoor activites we had planned were cancelled. But we were all cool and comfy in the basement room of the house. Everyone one won at least one prize from playing the games. And then we all munched on lots of 'party' foods. Katy received very nice and thoughtful gifts. I want to say 'Thank you' to everyone who could come. And a special thank you to our three little ones who played so nice together and added to the fun of the day. You can tell how much fun we all had by how worn out poor momma Sarah is. Actually she does not even know we took this picture, we did not have the heart to awaken her.

Can you stand more 4th of July pictures? Here is our Katy in 1980 (I think) what you cannot see is that she is holding up a sparkler. Sparklers were an every year purchase for Independence Day. I kinda miss them now. And the other picture, not looking anything like a July picture is to honor Aunt Mary because her birthday is on July 4th. Happy Birthday Mary!! We love you. I am thinking it is from about 1980 also. It was the first time you and Jim visited us in Wisconsin and we went skiing. Sometimes it felt that cold on July 4th in Wisconsin, but most times it was warm. Uh, nice John Deere jackets.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!! I hope all of you are having a great summer holiday and will be able to enjoy some fireworks with your loved ones. Here are some pictues of a July 4th many moons ago in 1975. That is Samantha with Grandma, Chris wearing one of the outfits I made during one of my manic sewing periods, and Mikey. Katy would not be born for 2 more years. I have fond memories of this 4th because it was one of the few times we had family around us for the holiday. By the way, little brother, who can that skinny fella be almost in the photo of Chris???? OHMIGOODNESS?
