Finally, here we are on the maiden voyage of Mike's new Sailboat, "Obiwanders Mas". As you can see, Mike is in sailing heaven. Said he has waited 5 years for this day. Me? Well the bigger boat does feel more stable, and it certainly is more comfortable to sleep in. And the day was nearly perfect for sailing, winds under 15mph, sunshine. I may never grow to love it as he does, but it wasn't awful.

This is an event to celebrate. Our friends, Paul and Merna have been married 50 years!! What a wonderful thing. The 'group' all went out to dinner to help them celebrate the actual date. Their children had already given a lovely party for them a while back. Paul and Merna are a great couple and I hope you all join in to wish them many more happy years together. By the way, Merna, I was in the 2nd grade when you got married!

Obiwanders

It has been a strange week. I had lost an item that was very dear to me. I just could not locate it. I was telling my friends about the loss and how upset I was and one of them asked me if I had prayed to the patron saint of lost items. Neither of us could remember from our Catholic upbringing who that was though I remember as a kid asking someone up there for help. So to make a long story longer, she looked up the saint for me and I figured it could do no harm and I was desperate. So I did, I say a little prayer to St. Anthony of Padua. My friend said she would also. Did it work?? Well, I did recover the lost item I was so worried about. And from a source that I thought was hopeless. Then I recovered a set of keys that I had lost in a garden store in Pella, Iowa, then I found a pair of favorite sunglasses missing for years, and the topper is that I found a travel alarm clock that Mike and I have been looking for over 5 years!!! So there you are. You can draw your own conclusions. Me, I keeping up the power of prayer.

Well, Its Wednesday and the weekend just finished for us with Virginia heading back to Ohio. Katies wedding on Saturday came off great. Katy and Kent are now in Cancun enjoying their honeymoon. A couple of pictures from the event are below, along with one that is somewhat virtual.
