Happy Birthday, Madeleine!!

Our sweet Madeleine is 1 yr old today.

It is funny how the mind works. Yesterday was Mike's 59th birthday. I cleaned the house, make his birthday pie, bought the card, wrapped the gift, planned and shopped for his birthday dinner. And then waited to hear from him as to when he was arriving home from Torreon. I remembered all that and forgot to blog him. Oh well! Some days I am lucky to remember where I live. ANYWAYS, here is the birthday boy. One from the past, I have no idea what year it is. And one on his favorite chair now. I love you, and I will always love you. Sail on!

After our camping trip with Bernie & Terri, and Sami & Brad's family, we headed back to Iowa City and picked up our grandpuppy Olivia. As you can see she had a really good time camping at Advertureland and going sailing on Lake Red Rock. She is better than I am at steering the boat! It was very warm one of the days on the boat, and Olivia really wanted to jump in. Me too!

Here are a few pictures of the camping weekend in Illinois with Bernie and Terrie, and Sami and Brad and their crew, Brandon, Andrew and Zach. Bernie was chief cook and everything was really yummy! It was a HOT humid weekend, but we got some relief from a thunderstorm or two. But it did not stop the fun. A spur of the moment visit to a local vineyard had some interesting effects on some of us.

I know that I am looking forward to doing this again and we hope more family can join us on future trips.

Mike and I went to Des Moines recently to see this production. It was my first live Monty Python on stage. Way funny!!! If any of you get the chance to see it, go!!! Even the program was tongue in cheek.
